Wood Selection

Here in the shop we use a variety of hand selected hardwoods both domestic and imported from around the world. Some of the domestic species we use include hard maple, cherry, walnut, oak, ash, and elm. Some of the exotics we use include paduak, yellow heart, purple heart, sapele, wenge, bocote, zebrawood, red zebrawood, mahogany, and many more.

After wood selection we mill and surface all the lumber in our shop. We then choose only the best pieces of lumber to be used in your board. All of the materials we use on your board is 100% food safe, from the glue to the wood finish. No stains or dyes are ever used in any of our boards, the colour of the wood you see in your board in the natural colour of the tree.
